Becoming a Single Parent

Today single-parent families have become more common than the "traditional family" consisting of a mother, father, and children. Maintaining a balanced family relationship is difficult; it takes time and maturity to find the formula that fits the family! 

All marriages are different and have their own unique stories. First comes love, then comes marriage, followed by kids, then comes the crushing realization that happily-ever-after takes a lot of effort! The hard truth is that many people find that children create significant stress in their relationships. Needless to say, the couple's problems have already existed before the children. Many times, going a separate way is the best solution. 

If a couple raising a child is challenging, can you imagine single parenting? Becoming a single parent is a journey of self-acceptance. It is an important journey that I want to grab onto and create a story of my own. When life gives you a lemon, make a lemonade. 

 

The Creation of Ehalo & Nanani World

Anxiety and stress often take place in the world of single parents. Parenting stress is common yet damaging to our well-being and may alter a child's development. Burn-out parents find it much harder to stay calm, set boundaries, and provide a loving environment for children to thrive. 

Ehalo was created to help parents to be their best selves. Our goal is to make you calmer, allow you to be a communicator to people around you, stay relaxed but focused in critical moments, and complete the over-demanding tasks with a positive state of mind. Ehalo wants you to enjoy parenthood through calmness.

Nanani World is a website I initially created to document my journey as a single parent. Healing through journaling and hoping to help others possibly going through the same situations. Nanani World is a wellness journey for single parents. 

 

Stay Calm and Strive

Single parenting can be stressful and demanding. Handling relationships with the ex-partner can be complex. Child custody arrangements and the financial burden can lead to late payment or debt. Some single parents sacrifice quality time with children due to long working hours. 

Self-care is heavily promoted but as a single parent! I often think, where do I find time to do self-maintenance with all that burdens on my shoulders? The answer is "100% Yes! We SHOULD find time," Even just 5 to 10 minutes of the day. Self-care is essential to keep things around you in good shape. 

Stress and long-term sleep deprivation are common issues for many single parents. There are a few ways to help you improve your overall well-being in stressful moments:

Walking does not have to be done at a fast pace or in a perfect big park to receive the stress-relieve benefits. Being a single-parent will make you experience the process of demolishing what you have built around you, entering a healing stage, rebuilding the support system, and more.
